Jury service is a vital function of democracy and it is crucial that the jury pool be representative of the entire community. To that end, the Berrien County Trial Court enlists panels of citizens to serve for a period of one week or one trial.
I've been called for Jury Duty, What should I do?
If you have been called to serve as a juror, nothing a citizen can be asked to do is more important. You will help to decide what happens to the liberty or property of other people. You will want to do your best to assure that the jury on which you sit returns a fair and impartial verdict.
Jurors who are qualified to serve must call the Jury Hotline at 269-982-0392 or 888-323-5879 (toll free) after 5:30 p.m. each night of their week of service to see if their candidate number is required to report the following morning.
