The Berrien County Local Emergency Planning Committee, or LEPC shall include representatives from different groups and organizations, as described in Section 301(c). A single member may represent more than one of the below groups or organizations. Likewise, a group may be representative by more than one member, 

LEPCs must consist of representatives of all of the following groups and organizations:

  • Elected state and local officials
  • Law enforcement
  • Emergency management
  • Firefighting
  • First aid and health
  • Local environmental
  • Hospitals
  • Transportation personnel
  • Broadcast and print media
  • Community groups
  • Owners/operators of facilities subject to the reporting requirements of SARA Title III

Additionally, the MCCERCC recommends that representatives from the following sectors also be appointed to the LEPC:

  • Organized Labor
  • Education
  • Agriculture

The Berrien County LEPC meets quarterly. Meetings are public and any interested community members are welcome!
